Trump sends barb towards Taylor Swift over Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss

Donald Trump has sent a barb towards Taylor Swift over the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss.

The US President made the comments whilst the Philadelphia Eagles visited the White House to celebrate their 2025 Super Bowl victory.

Both Trump and Swift were in attendance to watch the Eagles beat the Chiefs (40-22) in February at New Orleans’ Caesar Superdome. Trump became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl Game in person.

Swift, meanwhile, was there to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The singer was infamously booed by crowdgoers at the game, much to her visible confusion: “What is going on?”.

At the Eagles’ White House visit, Trump made note of Swift’s appearance at the game. During a speech, he reportedly said (per The Independent): “I was there along with Taylor Swift — how did that work out?”.

At the time, Trump also trolled Swift for being booed at the game. Taking to social media platform Truth Social, Trump shared a post from the “Libs of TikTok” account which claimed: “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed.”

He also gloated that “the world is healing!” in response to Swift’s frosty reception at the game.

Previously, Trump has admitted that he “hates” Swift. It came after Swift broke her silence on the US elections back in September, following the first debate between Kamala Harris and Trump. In an update shared with her 284million Instagram followers at the time, she threw her support behind former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

In the post, she championed Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader”, writing that she believed “we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos”. She signed off the post as Taylor Swift, “Childless Cat Lady”– a nod to a remark made by JD Vance, Trump’s candidate for vice president, in 2021.

Elsewhere, Taylor Swift has landed the biggest-selling new vinyl release of the decade.
