After a long spell at NBC (which terminated amid a rocky period for the awards show during the early 2020s), the Golden Globes aired on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday (Jan. 5). The 2025 Golden Globes ceremony is the first in a five-year deal with the TV network and the streaming service as the once-beleaguered show gets a new lease on life.
Comedian/actress Nikki Glaser is hosting the 2025 Golden Globes, which take place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. A number of musicians are up for gold trophies at this year’s show, including Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Donald Glover, Zendaya, Maren Morris and Robbie Williams. And not just in the musical categories – Grande and Gomez are among the nominees for best performance by a female actor in a supporting role in any motion picture for their work in Wicked and Emilia Pérez, respectively. Additionally, Gomez is up for best performance by a female actor in a TV series, musical or comedy for her work in Only Murders in the Building.
Naturally, plenty of those musical artists walked the Globes’ red carpet. Maren Morris, whose “Kiss the Sky” from The Wild Robot is up for best original song – motion picture, hit the carpet in a long red dress; Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails), who are nominated for best original score – motion picture for their pulse-pounding score for Challengers, walked the red carpet in black suits; and legendary R&B artist Babyface hit the carpet with Rika Tischendorf.
