Watch TV On The Radio perform ‘Wolf Like Me’ and more for NPR ‘Tiny Desk’ debut

TV On The Radio have made their NPR Tiny Desk debut, performing songs such as ‘Wolf Like Me’. Watch the performance video below.

The indie rock band – who have embarked on their first tour in five years this week – are the latest guests on the long-running series. The video was released on Wednesday (November 27).

Their Tiny Desk debut has been long-awaited by fans – and also one many years in the making. Upon release of the video, NPR revealed the band were on their wishlist when the series first started in 2008.

“I don’t know what happened 15 years ago. I think someone missed a phone call or an email ’cause we wanted to do it!” frontman Tunde Adebimpe said after their rousing performance of ‘Wolf Like Me’.

“We’ve been sitting around talking amongst ourselves saying, ‘I don’t know why they don’t want us,’ ” bandmate Kyp Malone added. Their Tiny Desk performance includes two early-career gems – ‘Satellite’ and ‘Young Liars’ – along with 2014’s ‘Could You’, with which they’re joined by vibraphonist Yusuke Yamamoto.

The band also recently reissued their debut album, ‘Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes’, on November 15, for its 20th anniversary. David Andrew Sitek is unable to play the live shows but remains in the band, a representative told Pitchfork.

Earlier this week (November 24) – a day before their tour officially began, and after a Jimmy Fallon appearance – the band played a surprise set at the 250-capacity New York venue TV Eye.

TV On The Radio intends to wrap up their four-day New York residency at the Webster Hall today (November 30) before heading to Los Angeles and London in December. Get tickets for the LA shows here and the UK ones here.

They’ll also perform at Primavera Sound in Barcelona next summer, and support Khruangbin at their huge outdoor gig at London’s Gunnersbury Park.
