Watch Tierra Whack Perform ‘Moovies,’ ‘Shower Song’ on ‘Fallon’

Both tracks appear on the musician’s debut LP, World Wide Whack

Tierra Whack stopped by The Tonight Show to showcase a medley of two songs, “Moovies” and “Shower Song.” The singer was joined by a live band for a soulful performance of the dual numbers, which she melded together for the late-night performance.

Both tracks come of Whack’s debut LP, World Wide Whack, which dropped in March. The LP saw Whack collaborating with numerous producers, including J Melodic, Simms, and Nick Verruto.

Whack has been making her way into the spotlight since the release of her 2018 debut mixtape, Whack World. She has collaborated Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Chief Keef, and Melanie Martinez, and she teamed up with Lil Yachty for Rolling Stone‘s “Musicians on Musicians” in 2023.

“I just want to make music and art that I’m proud of,” Whack said during the conversation. “That’s it. Period. I can name ‘Caught Out There’ by Kelis: I love that song. I wish I made it. If I can make a song and be so proud of it, like I can’t believe that I made it, I’m good. That’s all I need. I just want to be proud of my own art.”

She added, of her career, “If I’m just being myself and following my own path, I can’t see anything else. I’m just focused on me and having fun and being myself.”

Whack will join Janelle Monáe as co-headliner of the Carolinadaze Music & Arts Festival Series on Sept. 14. Hosted by nonprofit Common Cause North Carolina, Carolinadaze will dazzle downtown Raleigh at the Red Hat Amphitheater with a lineup of musicians that also includes Moses Sumney, Lute, and Helado Negro.
