View Iconic Rolling Stone Images of Grammy Winners and Best Album Nominees

Rolling Stone has brought together its most memorable magazine covers, feature articles, quotes, photos, and videos from the Eighties to today ahead of this year’s Grammy Awards.

“We are delighted to showcase our deep archives to a new audience,” said Gus Wenner, CEO of Rolling Stone. “It’s incredible to revisit the icons that have graced our pages over the decades in one place.” 

The showcase offers a retrospective look of “Album of the Year” winners and current nominees through the publication’s lens, bringing the stories behind the images to life via the exclusive Rolling Stone board on Pinterest.

Archival content includes memories and images featuring Taylor Swift, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Adele, Harry Styles, U2, Alanis Morissette, Lauryn Hill, Outkast, Ray Charles, Daft Punk, Beck, Kacey Musgraves, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Jon Batiste, boygenius, Janelle Monáe and more. 

The deep dive also provides an intimate look at the making of album’s that went on to win music’s top honors. From Alanis Morissette speaking with Rolling Stone on 1995’s Jagged Little Pill to Swift detailing the inspiration for her massive 1989 record: “I’ve started to really take pride in being strong. I love the album I made. I loved that I moved to New York.”

Last September, Rolling Stone invited Pinterest users behind the scenes of our cover shoot with Rodrigo with a Pinterest Board Drop, featuring a bold photo spread from the cover story and video from the shoot with the pop star.

The 2024 Grammy nominations were announced late last year, with SZA (SOS), Swift (Midnights), Rodrigo (Guts), Miley Cyrus (Endless Summer Vacation)boygenius (The Record), and Batiste (World Music Radio) in the running for Best Album of the Year. They’ll be joined by Monáe (The Age of Pleasure) and Lana Del Rey (Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd).  The award winners will be announced on Feb. 4.
