In July, Tyler released Don’t Tap the Glass, a short, 28-minute record. A Rolling Stone review described the album, which included “Ring Ring” and “I’ll Take Care of You” with Yebba, as “an entertaining pit stop on the way to something bigger.” He released the self-directed video for the LP’s track “Sugar on My Tongue” this month, following the visual for “Stop Playing With Me.”

During an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Tyler shared insight into his recent record. “It was being silly, just fun again. Because Chromakopia was so like, for me… I’m not saying it’s the most mature, deep shit. Everyone has different lives,” Tyler told the host. “I just want to get back to that, no deep album cuts, no slow emotional shit… I just want to be fun and say outrageous shit.”
