Scissor Sisters announce 2025 UK anniversary tour of their self-titled debut album

Scissor Sisters have announced their return with a huge 2025 UK anniversary tour of their self-titled debut album.

The New York pop-rock band will reunite on stage for the first time in over a decade to perform a string of live dates across arenas in the UK and Ireland. Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis will return on the comeback tour; vocalist Ana Matronic will not join due to being occupied with other projects.

They are set to perform their debut album ‘Scissor Sisters’ in full for the first time ever in honour of its 20th anniversary. Scissor Sisters will also perform selected hits from their following albums (2006’s ‘Ta-Dah’, 2010’s ‘Night Work’ and 2012’s ‘Magic Hour’).

In a press release, Shears shared that the tour was inspired by a lockdown screening of their 2007 concert film Scissor Sisters: Live at the O2, adding: “It’s the 20th anniversary of our debut album, so it really feels like the right time to revisit all the intense excitement of that moment. I don’t think I’d seen that show since it was filmed in 2007, but we were all kind of surprised by how great it was. And chatting with fans during the screening really brought back what a special moment it was for all of us.”

Meanwhile, Babydaddy said: “There’s something really special about us being a gay band, a queer band, who really pushed into the mainstream with that album. We want to revisit that because there weren’t as many queer acts breaking through in that way 20 years ago. We do acknowledge that we did something pretty unique back then just by putting ourselves out there as queer people. We put queer culture in the mainstream at a time when there wasn’t much of it there.”

Presale commences on November 6 at 9am, whist general sale will begin November 8 at 9am here – take a look at all dates below:

The Scissor Sisters’ 2025 UK reunion tour is:

MAY 2025

Scissor Sisters began teasing their return earlier this week when fans spotted the band logo emblazoned on Manchester’s Co-Op Arena.

The band have not released any new albums since they went on an indefinite hiatus after 2012’s ‘Magic Hour’. Though they released a charity single ‘Swerlk’ – in collaboration with electronic singer MNDR – in 2017, Scissor Sisters have not performed together since that hiatus.

Frontman Jake Shears has previously told NME in 2021 that “I really want to make another Scissors record”, adding: “I think everybody would need to want to do it. I don’t wanna twist anybody’s arm – that would just be no fun.”

However, at the time he ruled out an anniversary tour, saying: “I don’t think I would be into that. I would want to make new music.”

Since Scissor Sisters went on a break, Shears has released two solo albums, his self-titled 2018 debut and 2022’s ‘Last Man Dancing’.

‘Scissor Sisters’ was released in 2004, going on to sell over 3million copies across the world and become the best-selling album in the UK that year. It would also achieve a 9x Platinum status in the UK.

The album would net the group three BRIT awards in 2005 (Best International Album, Best International Group and Best International Breakthrough Act), making Scissor Sisters the first act ever to snag all three international category awards.
