Nick Jonas Headed Back to Broadway For ‘The Last Five Years’ Revival

Nick Jonas is prepping his return to Broadway in the spring of 2025 with a co-starring role in the revival of the musical The Last Five Years. According to The Hollywood Reporter Jonas is slated to co-star alongside Tony-winner Adrienne Warren (Shuffle Along, Tina) in the show, which will be directed by Tony nominee Whitney White (Jaja’s African Hair Braiding), with a score and book by Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Bridges of Madison County).

Jonas first appeared on Broadway as a child actor in musicals including 2001’s Annie Get Your Gun, as well as Beauty and the Beast and Les Misérables. After the Jonas Brothers took off, he returned to the Great White Way in 2012, when he took over the lead role in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying from Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.

The Last Five Years follows aspiring New York author Jamie and actress Cathy as they chronicle the ups and downs of their relationship over half a decade, with each starting at an opposite end of the affair’s timeline. The show premiered in 2001 and had off-Broadway runs in 2002 and 2013 and was adapted into a musical film in 2014 starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. The upcoming Jonas/Warren run will make the first time the musical has appeared on Broadway, with the theater and run dates to be announced later.

“I have always believed that when the time was right, The Last Five Years would make its way to Broadway,” Brown said in a statement of the show that will mark Jonas’ first Broadway role since 2012. “To have Nick and Adrienne taking on these roles is a composer’s dream come true, and to have Whitney’s extraordinary guidance and vision is the hope of every playwright. It has taken twenty-five years, but the time is right.”
