Maisie Williams Catches Romy’s Late Night Set in ‘She’s on My Mind’ Video

The xx member has also announced four upcoming solo tour dates in North America and South America

Romy‘s late-night club set brings in a crew of partygoers in the music video for her latest single “She’s on My Mind,” chief among them the actress Maisie Williams. The song, which arrived on Romy’s debut solo album Mid Air in September, is a hedonistic disco escape that closes out the record on a high note.

“I wanted to end the album with this because it feels like the end of the night when you’re at a party and someone puts a disco song on and everyone just has their hands in their air,” Romy told Apple Music. “It’s a fun one to end on. Just embracing and accepting how you feel. From the way that I start the album — the more tentative way of singing — to the end where the last thing I sing is, ‘I don’t care anymore’, it’s a bit of a release of pressure.”

But the party isn’t over just yet. Alongside the release of the “She’s on My Mind” video, Romy has announced four tour dates in North America and South America for 2024. The first two shows will take place on March 27 in Los Angeles and on March 29 in New York. The final two, in South America, are scheduled for May 14 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and May 16 in Santiago, Chile.

General sale for all shows begins on Friday, Dec. 15.

The XX member has described Mid Air as “a collection of songs celebrating love, navigating loss, and exploring identity.” The record, she explained, was inspired by the dance music she encountered at queer clubs growing up, as well as “people I met there and the music I heard that has made me feel more alive and less alone.”
