Jack Antonoff has confirmed his involvement in Lana Del Rey‘s upcoming country album, ‘Lasso’.

Earlier this year, Lana Del Rey announced her 10th studio album, ‘Lasso’, which she teased will see her venture into country music, and is being made alongside both regular collaborator, producer and Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff and country music maker Luke Laird.

Now, Jack Antonoff has confirmed that he has been in the studio with Del Rey to work on the record, though he’s not eager to share any information on their collaborations. In a new interview with TIME, he said: “A story for another time. The reason why I don’t talk about things until they’re out is very succinct: I like to let the music be the first entry point for people.”

He continued, explaining: “I don’t want to rob anyone of their experience of hearing it without context. The second you start talking about work that is coming, you’re planting these seeds in people’s head.”

Lana Del Rey and Jack Antonoff have worked together extensively since 2019, first pairing up for ‘Normal Fucking Rockwell‘ before reuniting for ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club‘ in 2021 and once again on last year’s ‘Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd‘.

As for teasers of ‘Lasso’, Lana Del Rey recently teamed up with rapper Quavo to release ‘Tough’ in early July. It is currently unclear if ‘Tough’ will feature on Lana’s ‘Lasso’, or if it will part of a larger Quavo project. Lana later revealed that she has more singles planned for release soon: “We have two more coming out by the end of the year!”

Most recently in August, the singer-songwriter teased that the sonics of the upcoming record won’t stray too far from her previous releases: “All my albums are somewhat rooted in Americana, unless it’s an album like ‘Honeymoon’ which has a jazz flair, so I don’t think it will be a heavy departure.”

She continued, explaining: “If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically, and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production — which again, so many of my songs already are.”

While the album has yet to receive a release date, the singer spoke to NME‘s Andrew Trendell in May to briefly speak about the record. Though she didn’t reveal much about the album, Lana suggested that the album’s lyrics might be lighter than her more recent output.

“I’ve maybe less to say in terms of any self-revealing things like on ‘Tunnel’ or ‘Blue Bannisters’ or ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’, and just more melodic. Maybe more American Songbook style?”

She also opened up about a potential sense of vindication around the new project. “Maybe three years ago there would have been a sense of vindication, but now it just feels playful. I don’t know why,” she explained, looking at her recent successes. “If you hang in long enough, it just feels easy. There’s no vindication, no nothing – I’m just kind of happy to be here.  It’s easy-going in that way.”
