Interpol Announce ‘Antics’ 20th Anniversary Reissue With Full 2005 Mexico City Live Set

The band is marking the milestone with a box set, digital release, and previously unseen footage of the band’s Mexico City performance

Interpol are celebrating two decades of their second studio album, Antics. The record was initially released on Sept. 27, 2004 and featured the singles “Slow Hands,” “Evil,” “C’mere,” and “Narc.” It was a defining moment for Interpol, who are now reissuing the album as a three-LP box set including previously unreleased footage of the band’s Mexico City performance at Palacio de los Deportes in 2005.

The full concert performance will stream on Friday, Sept. 27, timed to the official anniversary date. Ahead of the release, the band has shared the live performance visual for “Slow Hands.” The rest of the 20th anniversary edition of Antics is now available in all digital forms, which brings the one-off soundtrack single “Direction” to streaming for the first time.

The Antics anniversary box set will be made-to-order and includes a 30-page photo book. Pre-orders are open through Nov. 14, with the physical record set to arrive in 2025. The album is also being reissued on a limited-edition single LP pressed on red vinyl.

When Antics was first released in 2004, Rolling Stone gave the record a four-star review. “Continuous touring has clearly improved each member’s chops: Antics is a far more refined and finessed record than its predecessor. More remarkable is the well-dressed foursome’s improved songwriting,” the review reads. “Antics achieves a tunefulness that warms and broadens Interpol’s music, and helps them establish an identity distinct from their dolorous influences … What was once forced for Interpol now comes naturally: Antics chooses light over darkness without denying gray areas between.”

This week, Interpol kicked off the Antics 20th anniversary tour.
