Hiatus Kaiyote “absolutely gutted” after equipment stolen in robbery: “Please keep your eyes out”

Hiatus Kaiyote have revealed that they have had much of their equipment stolen in a recent robbery, and asked fans to keep an eye out.

The band shared the news on social media yesterday (March 11), confirming that they have had thousands of dollars worth of gear stolen from them, leaving them “absolutely gutted”.

The incident took place at their storage space in Preston, Victoria. They stated that they found the space ransacked and now suspect that the equipment may be appearing online or in music stores to be sold.

“We have been robbed. Please keep your eyes out, especially if you are in Melbourne and surrounding areas/states,” they wrote in the caption. “Contact us if you see anything. Absolutely gutted right now. Please don’t flood our inbox right unless you have information on the whereabouts of these items.”

They also posted a carousel of images listing the gear that was taken, which included an Ernie Ball Bongo 6 bass, a Korg Kronos 2, 73 key, a Roland System 8 and Two Roland JX-3Ps with flight cases.

A Jackson Randy Rhoads Flying V guitar has also been taken, along with a Yamaha Rev1 Reverb with controller, a Soundtrac Topaz Project 8 24 Channel Mixer and an Allen and Heath GL2200 Mixer.

The news of the robbery comes as the band shared their fourth album, ‘Love Heart Cheat Code’ last year, and embarked on numerous tour dates in celebration.

They are scheduled to take to the stage later this month for a slot at Meadow 2025 in Bambra, Australia. This is slated for March 21, although it isn’t yet clear whether this show will go ahead as planned amid the robbery.

Those with information about the location of the stolen gear can reach out to Hiatus Kaiyote on social media.
