Heart and Cheap Trick Join Forces for ‘Royal Flush’ Tour

Cheap Trick and a reunited Heart are joining forces for the nationwide Royal Flush tour. It kicks off April 20 in Greenville, South Carolina, and wraps up Sept. 22 in Morrison, Colorado. Midway through the U.S. run, they are going to Europe for a series of dates with Squeeze.

Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson will be joined by Ryan Wariner (lead and rhythm guitar), Ryan Waters (guitars), Paul Moak (guitars, keyboards and backing vocals), Tony Lucido (bass and backing vocals), and Sean T Lane (drums).

“We’re excited and all geared up to hit the road in 2024 to perform for our devoted fans,” Ann Wilson said in a statement. “The exceptional talent of the band — Ryan, Ryan, Paul, Tony and Sean — brings a whole new level of energy to Heart’s live performance.”

Nancy Wilson adds: “I am incredibly proud of the show that our band has crafted and am looking forward to reconnecting with our fans. We can’t wait to share our music with everyone and celebrate the big electric energy of a completely live on the spot rock show.”

The Wilson sisters put Heart on hiatus between 2016 and 2019 due to an unfortunate family spat, and they’ve largely toured in separate camps over the past few years. “Nancy and I are okay with each other,” Ann Wilson told Classic Rock in 2022. “We just have different ideas for what Heart should be, and we haven’t figured out a compromise yet. Fifty years on, I still want it to break barriers and rules, and she’s more satisfied to ride the LA imaging thing and just do legacy stuff. So that’s a real split between us.”

Over the past few years, Nancy Wilson toured under the name Nancy Wilson’s Heart, with vocalist Kimberly Nichole filling the role of Ann. They reunited Oct. 10, 2023 for the first time in four years at a show in Santa Rosa, California. They followed it up with a handful of concerts in late 2023, and a New Year’s Day performance at the NHL Winter Classic in Seattle.

Cheap Trick, meanwhile, have been touring practically nonstop since the group formed 51 years ago. Original dummer Bun E. Carlos left the band in 2010, but founding members Robin Zander (vocals), Rick Nielsen (guitar), and Tom Petersson (bass) remain. They are joined by next generation band members Daxx Nielsen on drums, and Robin Taylor Zander on rhythm guitar and backing vocals.
