Fenix*TX’s Adam Lewis dies aged 45, memorial fund set up for his family

Fenix*TX bassist Adam Lewis has died at the age of 45.

The founding member of the Houston pop-punk group passed away last Wednesday (June 5) following a “valiant battle with pancreatic cancer”, his surviving bandmates confirmed in a statement.

He had been diagnosed with the disease in 2021.

The message read: “We are heartbroken. There are no words that will do justice to the life Adam lived. A memorial fund has been created in his honor to care for the family he loved so dearly.

“We will do our best to honor his final wishes and make him proud. We love you Adam Lewis. Fenix TX.”

In a later upload, Fenix*TX confirmed that the fundraiser was live on GoFundMe. The page has reached $6,600 (£5,163) of its $100,000 (£78,226) target at the time of writing.

“We want to ensure that his family is taken care of during this time,” the group wrote. “Anything helps, especially sharing. Thank you all for the outpouring of love.” You can see the posts above.

The GoFundMe page states that “a celebration of Adam’s life is in the works with information forthcoming”.

Fenix*TX released their self-titled debut studio album in 1999. They’ve previously toured with the likes of Blink-182, Good Charlotte and New Found Glory, as well as appearing at numerous Warped Tours and festivals such as Reading & Leeds and Rock Am Ring.

Last October, the band took to the stage at When We Were Young Festival 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Setlist.FM lists this as their most recent live show. Prior to their brief run of dates last year, they hadn’t performed together since 2018.

Fenix*TX had been scheduled to play some further reunion gigs in the US this September, but these have now been cancelled.

Lewis is survived by his partner, Adrieanne Guerrero, and their children Lennon (10) and
Sloane (7).
