BTS‘ Jin is gearing up to release his second solo album. The singer announced on Monday (April 14) that Echo, his follow-up to last year’s solo debut, Happy, is due out on May 16. “Aiming to connect on a deeper level with fans through music, Echo offers Jin’s perspective on universal life experiences, capturing everyday emotions with warmth and sincerity,” reads a statement announcing the project. At press time no additional information was available about Echo.
“Built on dynamic band sounds, the album showcases his versatile vocals across a spectrum of moods and styles,” the statement continued. “It reflects a deeper layer of vocal maturity and personal storytelling that underscores Jin’s evolving artistry.”
When he’s not in the studio working on solo material, Jin has been expanding his acting portfolio, recently appearing on Netflix’s Korean variety show, Kian’s Bizarre B&B. In November, Jin dropped a new version of the Happy b-side “Falling” featuring additional vocals from ONE OK ROCK singer Taka as the follow-up to the official album singles “I’ll Be There” and “Running Wild.”
Jin was the seventh, and final, member of BTS to release a full solo project. His second album will drop as ARMY eagerly await word on when the full band will reunite. BTS has been on indefinite hiatus since June 2022 to allow its members to complete their mandatory South Korean military service, with originally stated plans for the outfit to re-assemble sometime this year. At press time no additional information was available on when the reunion will take place.
