BLACKPINK’s Jisoo recently spoke to Billboard about her debut solo mini-album, ‘Amortage’, which was released on Valentine’s Day (February 14). When asked about what inspires her, the K-pop star named Britney Spears, having grown up on the pop icon’s music.

“Every time I prepare for a solo release, I always find myself going back to her ‘…Baby One More Time’ music video as a reference,” she shared with the outlet. “I love that pop vibe, and I always say, ‘I want to shoot something with that kind of energy’. It’s a video I constantly use as inspiration when creating my own.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Jisoo also teased BLACKPINK’s upcoming 2025 world tour. “I think last year, as each member focused on individual activities, we all grew a lot. Now as we come together this year, I feel like we’ll be able to return with an even bigger and more spectacular presence,” she revealed.

She also mentioned that the BLACKPINK members are “excited” about the world tour and have been “sharing ideas” with each other. “We’ve already done a lot of preparations for this year,” she said.

‘Amortage’ is Jisoo’s first music release since she first went solo two years ago with the single album ‘Me’. Released in March 2023, that record included the title track ‘Flower’ and B-side, ‘All Eyes On Me’.

It also marks her first foray into solo music since she established her own label Blissoo in early-2024, following her departure from long-time label YG Entertainment in the months prior.

Aisde from music, Jisoo has also been focused on her acting career. The K-pop star most recently starred in the Prime Video K-drama, Newtopia, opposite The 8 Show actor Park Jeong-min. The series also notably marks the BLACKPINK star’s first leading role since 2021’s Snowdrop.
