Charli XCX, who hosted SNL last month, has another acting credit in the pipeline. The Brat hitmaker joins the cast of the upcoming film The Gallerist, directed by Cathy Yan.

Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega were previously announced as stars of the movie, which is in pre-production and expected to begin shooting at the end of 2024.

Charli, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Sterling K. Brown, Zach Galifianakis, Daniel Brühl and Catherine Zeta-Jones round out the cast, Deadline reported on Friday (Dec. 13).

The Gallerist was co-written by director Yan and James Pedersen. The storyline involves a gallerist conspiring to sell a dead body at Art Basel Miami. Producers include Ash Sarohia and Jonathan King from Concordia Studio, Sophie Mas and Portman from MountainA, Tom McCarthy and Rae Baron from Slow Pony, and Zola Elgart Glassman. MRC is set to finance the film.

Singer-songwriter-actor Charli has a number of movie roles lined up following a successful run with her latest album, June’s Brat (which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, making it her highest charting album to date) and its October companion release, Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat. Her name is credited among the cast of the films 100 Nights of Hero, Erupcja, Faces of Death, I Want Your Sex, Mother Mary and Sacrifice, all currently in post-production. She’s also guest starring on the Amazon comedy series Overcompensating. Charli is repped by CAA.
