Alanis Morissette to play at upcoming Kamala Harris fundraiser

Alanis Morissette is set to play a set at a fundraiser for presidential hopeful Kamala Harris ahead of the US elections this autumn.

As per Deadline, Morissette will perform at the event in LA today (September 29), as well Halle Bailey.

Campaign co-chair Jeffrey Katzenberg confirmed to Deadline that both Morissette and Bailey will be featured entertainers during the afternoon for the event.

The event is the first campaign fundraiser since Harris became the official Democratic Party nominee.

The proceeds from the event will go to the Harris Victory Fund, which, as per Deadline, raises money for the Harris campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state parties. Tickets for the event cost $500 (£373).

Meanwhile, a host of other stars most notably Taylor Swift and Charli XCX have endorsed Harris as their presidential candidate. Harris has since shared that she is “very proud” of the former’s endorsement while the latter’s tweet was adopted by the Democrat nominee’s campaign team.

This week, Chappell Roan also revealed that she would be voting for Harris for the upcoming US elections after previously saying she wasn’t endorsing any candidate for President.

In a new TikTok video, Roan expanded on recent comments she made regarding the upcoming elections, saying she wasn’t going to throw her undivided support behind any one candidate due to “problems” on both sides. In a new video, she clarified that she’s still standing by her statement, but explains that endorsing a candidate and voting are two different situations.

“I’m voting for fucking Kamala,” Roan said in the video, adding “but I’m not settling for what has been offered. Because that’s questionable. It’s questionable, the actions of our government, of the internet, of you and me.”

Billie Eilish and Finneas also recently championed Harris while Eilish’s ‘When the Party’s Over’ recently featured in the Democrat’s Ad on reproductive care.
