Yuu Nagira’s ‘Nanji, Hoshi no Gotoku’ Hits No. 1 on Billboard Japan Book Hot 100 on 51st Chart Week

Yuu Nagira’s Nanji, Hoshi no Gotoku (You, Like a Star) hits No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Book Hot 100 chart released Nov. 5.

Nagira’s 2022 romance novel claims its first No. 1 in its 51st week on the chart. Since its live-action film adaptation starring Ryusei Yokohama and Suzu Hirose opened Oct. 9, the title has been climbing back up the chart, spending the three previous weeks in the top 10. This week, it tops the subscriptions metric while also placing No. 2 in both brick-and-mortar and social media and No. 12 in e-commerce (EC), scoring well-balanced points to earn its first No. 1. Hoshi wo Amu, the novel’s spinoff, also comes in at No. 6 this week.

Akiko Abe’s Cafuné, whose paperback edition was released Oct. 15, enters the top three for the first time at No. 2. Vol. 8 of the manga adaptation of Wakatsu Yatsuki’s isekai BL novel Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai lands at No. 3 overall, topping the e-books metric.
