Phoebe Bridgers has reunited with her Boygenius bandmates for a short, ethereal acoustic performance, directed by Lance Oppenheim. Check it out below.
The performance came as part of A24’s Sound Check At Cherry Lane Theatre series, which sees musicians host brief, intimate performances in collaboration with a renowned director.
For Bridgers, the set came as she is currently embarking on her ‘Lost Tour’ across North America in celebration of her new solo record ‘Lost Weekend’, and it also comes following her making her first major feature film debut alongside Robert Pattinson in Primetime.
For her appearance at the Sound Check At Cherry Lane Theatre, she opened the three-song set with the song ‘On Video’ which she recorded for the film’s soundtrack, and she was joined by longtime collaborator Ethan Gruska on the piano for the stripped-back rendition.
From there, she brought out Boygenius bandmates Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus to help perform her songs ‘Haunted’ and ‘Lost Boys’ – and their stunning vocal harmonies add a new level of depth to Bridgers’ tracks.
The collaboration with Dacus and Baker came shortly after Bridgers brought them out on her solo tour as she performed in New York at the end of last month. There, they played songs including ‘Not Strong Enough’ and ‘Powers’, but there is no footage of the moment online due to the phone-free policy the singer has implemented on this tour.
Their last televised collaboration before then was in 2023, when the trio made an appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Bridgers’ tour dates kicked off in Indiana on September 15, and has so far seen her play live in Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Michigan and more over the past couple of weeks. ‘Lost Weekend’ is her first solo record since 2020’s ‘Punisher’.
The US tour kicked off after Bridgers played a small handful of acoustic shows in recent weeks, including a last-minute set at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. She also played two small, phone-free concerts at London’s Union Chapel in August to celebrate her 32nd birthday, and had been due to play three further stops in Kingston, Brighton and Bristol this week, but those shows had to be cancelled due to her hospitalisation.
Since then, the songwriter has announced rescheduled dates for her intimate UK shows and celebrated her first solo Number One album from hospital.

Next month, she’ll head kick off her UK and Ireland dates, before wrapping up the tour with seven stops across Europe. Visit here for tickets.
NME gave ‘Lost Weekend’ five stars, describing it as “the opposite of emotional evasion: more a reckoning with herself and the romantic and familial love and loss that have shaped her story and storytelling”.
As well as starring in Primetime, Bridgers has also appeared in a short film made by Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst.
As for Boygenius, Dacus and Baker also collaborated with Bridgers on ‘Lost Weekend’, and dropped their last album ‘The Record’ in 2023 before taking a hiatus.
