In the week ending Oct. 1, the song, one of four bonus tracks released Sept. 25 from her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl, earned 34.5 million chart-eligible streams in the United States, according to Luminate.

That single-week sum is the biggest in the U.S. since a pair of Drake songs, “Janice STFU” (40.7 million) and “Ran to Atlanta” (38.5 million), accumulated more toward the May 30 Billboard charts upon their debut week.

“Patient Zero” marks Swift’s second newcomer to No. 1 on Streaming Songs in 2026 and third overall. “The Fate of Ophelia,” which reigned for seven weeks between October and December 2025, returned to the top spot for one week in January (Jan. 10, following the fall of holiday songs on the ranking), while “I Knew It, I Knew You” led for a week in June.

Swift, who first topped Streaming Songs in November 2014 with “Shake It Off,” is one of only two acts to boasts 10 or more No. 1s in the ranking’s 13-year history, alongside Drake with 22.

Most No. 1s, Streaming Songs

  • 22, Drake
  • 12, Taylor Swift
  • 7, Justin Bieber
  • 7, Kendrick Lamar
  • 6, Ariana Grande
  • 6, Morgan Wallen
  • 5, Bruno Mars
  • 5, Olivia Rodrigo
  • 5, Travis Scott

Swift occupies four of Streaming Songs’ top five on the Oct. 10 chart, with Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” (No. 2, 22.4 million streams) breaking up the streak. “Cleveland!” follows at No. 3 (19.3 million), with “Babylon” (No. 4, 19 million) and “Pink Clouding” (No. 5, 18.4 million) rounding out the top five.

As a result, Swift now has 41 top fives on Streaming Songs (second all time behind Drake’s 70) and 73 top 10s (also second, also behind Drake, who has 114).

Below the top five, Swift appears on Streaming Songs multiple times; “The Fate of Ophelia” is the ranking’s Greatest Gainer (No. 12; 10.2 million streams, up 51%), while “Opalite” re-enters at No. 22 (7.7 million streams, up 53%) and “I Knew It, I Knew You” remains on the list at No. 39 (6.3 million). The former two were featured on the original release of The Life of a Showgirl, while the latter is on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack.

Concurrently, as previously reported, “Patient Zero” debuts at No. 1 on the multimetric Billboard Hot 100, her 16th ruler, and parent album The Life of a Showgirl returns to the top of the Billboard 200.
