Ella Langley Has a 2-Word, 2-Emoji Reaction to Tying Mariah Carey’s Hot 100 Record

Ella Langley is celebrating yet another week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, with this week making history.

Langley shared Billboard‘s latest Hot 100 chart to her Instagram Story on Monday (Sept. 14), reacting to “Choosin’ Texas” spending its 22nd week at No. 1. “22 weeks,” she wrote over the repost with an emoji of a smiley-face holding back tears and a mind-blown emoji. She also tagged collaborators JoyBeth Taylor, Miranda Lambert and Luke Dick.

The latest milestone puts Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” in a tie for the longest-leading No. 1 hit in Hot 100 history. The song now matches Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has also spent 22 weeks atop the chart across its run from 2019 through 2026.

According to the Sept. 19-dated chart, Choosin’ Texas” — which was topped Billboard‘s Songs of the Summer 2026 chart — remains at No. 1, extending its historic run beyond Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ collab, “Old Town Road.” The latter two songs each spent 19 weeks at the summit and are the next non-holiday tracks to lead the tally.

More accolades are on the horizon for Langley. The country star nabbed a leading nine nominations for the CMA Awards when the nods were announced Sept. 10. Among the awards she’s in the running for are entertainer of the year, both single and song of the year (for “Be Her” and “Choosin’ Texas”) and album of the year. In the single category, Langley faces some tough competition from the likes of Taylor Swift (“I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5), Lainey Wilson (“Somewhere Over Laredo”) and Cody Johnson (“The Fall”). The CMA Awards air Nov. 18.
