Hollywood actor Jeff Goldblum has been announced as the first host of the new season of Saturday Night Live UK, with CMAT as musical guest.
The British spin-off of the long-running US sketch comedy show debuted on Sky One in March with former SNL US cast member Tina Fey as the host and Wet Leg as the musical guest. Since then, celebrities including Jamie Dornan, Riz Ahmed, and Nicola Coughlan have hosted, while music acts have included Kasabian, Foo Fighters, and MEEK.
Last month, it was announced that the series would be returning for season two, with an initial run of six episodes starting on September 12, and more planned for 2027. Now, it has been revealed that Jeff Goldblum will be hosting the premiere episode of season two, with CMAT performing.

Goldblum is an Emmy and Oscar nominated actor best known for films such as Jurassic Park, Independence Day, and the Wicked movies. He is also a musician, having released jazz album ‘Night Blooms’ in June. He has previous experience with the SNL franchise, having hosted the US show in 1993 and 1997.
CMAT is riding high from the success of last year’s album ‘Euro-Country’, and recently released a live EP from her huge show at St Anne’s Park in Dublin. The Irish star revealed in July that she will not be playing live in 2027 as she described herself as “literally losing my mind” after six years of continuous touring and recording.
As for SNL UK, the show has received a generally warm reception, but has made headlines with its humour. Earlier this year, cast member Ania Magliano responded to controversy surrounding her joke that drew comparisons between Mark Zuckerberg and Hitler, describing the tech billionaire as “fair game,” and said that she was “kind of detached” from any online criticism.
