Watch Chase & Status join Skrillex for Boomtown 2026 set

Chase & Status joined Skrillex during his headline set at Boomtown 2026 this weekend – watch footage below.

The US producer closed out the festival’s Hydro XL stage at the Matterley Estate near Winchester on Sunday night (August 16), playing a set spanning music from across his career, up to and including his recent album ‘SOMA’.

Towards the end of the set, Chase & Status joined him on stage for a surprise B2B performance and together, they played an unreleased track with Brazilian vocals, with many fans speculating that it points to an upcoming collaboration between the two artists.

“Big up @Skrillex for bringing us through,” Chase & Status later wrote on social media. “Boomtown crew showed up.”

Earlier in the night, Skrillex’s set was reportedly paused for around 20 minutes amid crowd-control concerns. During the interruption, the DJ appealed to those in the crowd to look after one another before the music resumed.

Chase & Status will be headlining Reading & Leeds later this month, topping the new Grid stage at Leeds on Friday August 28 and then Reading on Sunday August 30.  They will be the only full shows from the duo in 2026.

They will share headline status with Charli XCX, Dave, Florence + The Machine, Fontaines D.C. and Raye, making up the first entirely British and Irish set of Reading & Leeds headliners in 25 years.

The festival has also announced its biggest ever overhaul for 2026, including the introduction of The Grid as its new main stage and an expanded range of venues across both sites.

Speaking to NME about the changes, festival boss Melvin Benn explained that the move had made him “as excited about Reading & Leeds as I’ve ever been”.

“I’m as excited about Reading & Leeds from when I started Leeds, in fact, in 1999. This really is the next phase of Reading & Leeds festivals,” he shared.

Skrillex, meanwhile, headlined Sziget in Budapest last week andNME was there. “It was a headline set packed with pyro, smoke and lights akin to lasers lighting up the night sky, as the Los Angeles DJ and producer brought his wobbling beats and rattling bass to the main stage field,” the review read.

“A huge crowd came to send off Sziget 2026 with his set, and they were rewarded with a raft of bangers, from remixes of Jack Ü’s ‘Where Are Ü Now’ and Don Toliver’s ‘E85’ to original Skrillex tracks like ‘Ratata’ and ‘Diwali’, a collaboration with rapper Beam and rising Indian singer Naisha.”
