Rod Stewart has cancelled his upcoming tour stops after undergoing a routine coronary stent procedure.

On Sunday (August 9), the 81-year-old artist had been scheduled to perform at Ohio’s Riverbend Music Center as part of his current ‘One Last Time’ North American tour, but cancelled that gig at the last minute due to an “unforeseen but minor medical procedure”.
He later cancelled all upcoming show dates after successfully undergoing a routine coronary stent procedure. In a statement shared with Rolling Stone, Stewart’s representatives said that the singer was doing well and had already returned to his daily activities.
“On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage,” they said. “Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to continue his current tour dates.”
In his own message shared with fans on Tuesday (August 11), he assured them that he was “already feeling better and very much on the mend”. He said that while he was “deeply disappointed to miss these shows”, he looked forward to getting back on stage.
Stewart has been out on his ‘One Last Time Tour’ across North America since 2024, and was forced to pause a gig in Utah to use an oxygen tank after nearly fainting on stage earlier this summer.
This followed him facing backlash when he was spotted cheering for Scotland at a World Cup game, just hours after cancelling a concert in California due to health reasons.
Stewart’s team had shared a statement detailing that “on the advice of his doctors and following a diagnosis of an acute upper respiratory infection that has resulted in laryngitis, he is unable to take the stage this evening”.
In his own message, the veteran singer told fans: “Following treatment, I’m feeling much better, but my voice is not. I’m very disappointed and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience to my fans.”
Stewart’s ‘One Last Time’ farewell tour included his Legends Slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival last year, where he was joined by Ronnie Wood, Mick Hucknall and Lulu.
NME was at the show and awarded it four stars, noting: “It may be the staggering heat or a stronger Sunday hangover this year, but the crowd aren’t quite as raucous as they often are for the legends slot, despite the many resplendent in copycat wigs and spandex. Still, the man’s voice is on point and he knows how to charm while giving you bang for your buck.”
This spring, the star said he’d “probably” wrap up live touring for good with a UK run in 2027.
