Ariana Grande Shares More Magical ‘Harry Potter’ Impressions, This Time of Even Trickier Characters

Ariana Grande is back with another round of Harry Potter impressions, this time challenging herself to nail the voices of tricky side characters such as Draco Malfoy, Professor McGonagall, Argus Filch, Luna Lovegood and more.

In a recent TikTok from her beauty brand, R.E.M. Beauty, the pop star films herself trying out the different personas while promoting her plumping lipgloss. In addition to the aforementioned icons from the Harry Potter franchise, Grande also somehow channeled house elf Kreacher’s low, gravelly groaning as well as corrupt Ministry of Magic official Dolores Umbridge’s creepy high-pitched giggle.

“Gryffindor! Plumping lip gloss!” she also declared while delivering a convincing interpretation of the Sorting Hat’s bellow in the movies.

The Grammy winner is known for her being able to morph her voice into uncannily accurate impressions, and her Potter-themed beauty video is no exception. It builds on a past R.E.M. clip she shared in July featuring her first round of impressions from the magical fantasy films — which were based off of J.K. Rowling’s bestselling books — with Grande channeling Ron Weasley, Bellatrix Lestrange, Hermione Granger and more at the time.

The new clip comes on the heels of the Wicked star snagging her seventh No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with Petal, which dropped July 31 and features Billboard Hot 100-topping lead single “Hate That I Made You Love Me.” Grande is currently on tour in support of 2024 full-length Eternal Sunshine, though she recently announced that she’ll be stepping away from the spotlight after the trek concludes in early September.

“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny,” her rep stated on Aug. 2.

The break was announced amid heightened speculation surrounding Grande’s appearance in the music video for her new album’s title track, “Petal.” After it dropped, an onslaught of discourse broke out online in regards to the hitmaker’s figure — but on stage in Chicago shortly afterward, she assured fans that the negativity hadn’t pushed her to step away.

“The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing,” she told fans on Aug. 3. “It is something that I had decided. It’s a plan that I had quietly made a long time ago, and it’s a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place.”

The vocalist has long been open about her love for Harry Potter over the years. More than a decade ago, Tom Felton — who portrayed Draco Malfoy in the Potter films — wrote on X that he thought Grande was likely a Gryffindor, she revealed in a response that her official Pottermore house quiz had sorted her into Slytherin.
