Green Day have launched a 24/7 YouTube station featuring the band’s music videos, live performances, and “over 100 hours of footage you can’t find anywhere else.”
The group announced their new nonstop channel Green Day TV on Thursday with a Wayne’s World-esque promo, with the channel promising “a 24/7 nonstop stream of live footage, music videos, unearthed VHS tapes, deep cuts, and probably some stuff that should’ve stayed in the archives.”
In addition to emptying their video vaults for Green Day TV, the station will also feature new original programming like Transmission Unknown, highlighting up-and-coming new bands, interviews, comedy sketches, “radical cartoons and short films,” all hosted by drummer Tre Cool.
As extra incentive to stay constantly tuned in, Green Day TV will also broadcast trivia, giveaways, and surprise merch drops.
(At press time, Green Day TV was streaming single-camera footage of the band’s 1994 gig at Washington, D.C.’s iconic 9:30 Club, where Billie Joe Armstrong introduced the crowd to a new song, Dookie’s “She.” According to Setlist.fm, it was actually the third-ever performance of “She,” which the band has played live over 920 times since.)

Green Day will also be seen on the big screen next when the band’s new film Nimrods: A Green Day Comedy hits theaters on August 14. Filmmaker Lee Kirk, who wrote and directed the picture, based the story on Green Day’s salad days when they toured in a van before Dookie made them world famous.
“I’ve always wanted to do a Green Day film,” Armstrong previously told The Hollywood Reporter. “God, ever since the beginning, just all my heroes have always done films, whether it was Rock ‘n’ Roll High School by the Ramones or [the Beatles’] A Hard Day’s Night, the Who’s Quadrophenia. I just wanted to do the same thing.”
