Fiona Apple releases new theme song for Apple TV’s ‘Lucky’ starring Anya Taylor-Joy

Fiona Apple has shared the theme song for Apple TV‘s new series Lucky starring Anya Taylor-Joy – listen to it below.

‘Horns Of A Bull’ is an unsettling song backed by warm piano chords, which opens each episode of the seven-part thriller. It landed on the streaming service yesterday (Wedensday July 15).

The show from Your Friends & Neighbors creator Jonathan Tropper, is an adaptation of Marissa Stapley’s 2021 novel about an international con-woman (Taylor-Joy) on the run from FBI agents (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Mo McRae) and a ruthless crime boss (Annette Bening) after a multimillion-dollar heist goes wrong.

Apple co-produced ‘Horns Of A Bull’ with Amy Aileen Wood, her drummer and the wife of Lucky showrunner Cassie Pappas. Listen to it below.

Reviewing the series NME awarded it four stars and said: “There’s a constant sense of threat here and a smart overarching narrative. Can Taylor-Joy’s savvy scammer find a way to appease Priscilla and evade the clutches of Agent Rand? She should be so Lucky – but you’ll want to find out how close she comes. Even with some corny and convoluted moments, Lucky works all the right angles.”

Elsewhere, it was recently confirmed that Taylor-Joy has been cast in the new Lord Of The Rings film, The Hunt For Gollum.

Directed by Andy Serkis, the new film is set before Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring, and features many stars from Peter Jackson’s previous films. Ian McKellen will return as Gandalf, alongside Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins, Lee Pace as King Thranduil, and Serkis himself as Gollum.

Taylor-Joy is set to play Seren, an elf character who, per Variety, is described as “a trusted and lethal agent of King Thranduil.” The official Lord Of The Rings account announced her casting on Instagram, writing “Welcome to the hunt”. The film is released in cinemas December 17, 2027.
