Madonna Reacts to Going No. 1 On Billboard 200: ‘I’m Still Pinching Myself’

Madonna is back on top, and she’s feeling the support from her fandom.

Madge reached the top of the Billboard album chart after releasing CONFESSIONS II. The album debuted at No. 1 on the July 18-dated Billboard 200, proving that she’s still got it. In an Instagram post, the “I Feel So Free” singer added a carousel of photographs with friends during the New York edition of Club Confessions, the album release party that took place in Queens on July 11, the night before the album topped the Billboard chart. In some shots, she is accompanied by Stuart Price — who was involved in the album’s production — and DJs Honey Dijon and Kaytranada.

In the caption, Madonna expressed her happiness with her supporters. “Words cannot express how grateful and surprised I am by the incredible reception, Confessions on a Dance Floor has received !!,” she said.

The artist then thanked her fans and “everyone who has been a part of this and who has helped make this dream come true. Especially my fans. The goodwill and positivity has been incredible. I’m still pinching myself. I can’t believe it’s #1 all around the world.”

She concluded the message by sharing that, “My dream was to make people dance this summer!! To bring people JOY! Dreams do come true. Thanks and love!”

CONFESSIONS II, Madge’s 15th studio album, was released on July 3. It includes a 16-song tracklist, involving collaborations with Feid, Martin Garrix, her daughter Lola Leon, Stromae and Sabrina Carpenter, whom she teamed up with for “Bring Your Love,” which hit the Billboard Hot 100.

At the Tribeca Festival in June, Confessions II—The Film made its debut with six tracks from the album: “I Feel So Free,” “Good for the Soul,” “One Step Away,” “Bring Your Love,” “Danceteria” and “Read My Lips.”

The album’s debut atop the list is her 10th No. 1 album and makes her the first artist to have a No. 1 album in the 2020s as well as three other decades.
