FKA Twigs Hosts a Rooftop Dance Battle With Lil Yachty in ‘On Your Mind’ Video

Twigs wrote the track after a rehearsal for a 2025 tour and Coachella performance were delayed over visa complications

When FKA Twigs wrote her latest single “On Your Mind” with Lil Yachty, it was after dance rehearsal ahead of the U.S. leg of her Eusexua tour and a highly anticipated Coachella performance in 2025, neither of which happened when she thought they would. Both were postponed due to visa complications and the single was born from Twigs’ hope that it would somehow come together in the end.

It did, eventually, and the Jordan Hemingway-directed video is an ode to staying in motion even when it would make sense to stop. In the clip, Twigs and Yachty host a rooftop dance battle. As they move through the streets, communicating solely through movement, the camera cuts to even more bodies heaving, lurching, and writhing.

“it never ceases to amaze me how pain can manifest into the hardest and most euphoric sonics,” Twigs shared in a statement about the song. “I think making songs like this keeps me on my toes and reminds me that I am not in control.”

“On Your Mind” is the first release from Twigs since last year, when she shared Eusexua Afterglow. Since then, she has completed both the Eusexua tour and the Body High Tour. She also finally made it to Coachella. “Twigs pushed herself to the brink during the 75-minute set, throwing her body into her signature pole dances, but also spinning on top of another dancer during “Love Crimes,” wielding a sword, and performing as though the music and emotion were trying to claw out of her body,” Rolling Stone wrote in a review of the captivating set.

The set was born from the same mission that led to the creation of “On Your Mind.” “Going on tour the last month and looking out into the audience, I’ve not really seen fans or people that are just kind of into my music,” Twigs said at Coachella. “What I’ve seen is community. I’m looking out into the crowd tonight and I see the same thing. I think that all of us are here tonight because we want to grow, because we believe in ourselves, because we’re artistic, because we have an expression, because we’re here against all odds.”
