The Jay-Z Commemorative Library Card is Back for the ‘Reasonable Doubt’ 30th Anniversary

A limited-edition card will be available at all Brooklyn Public Library branches, while supplies last, starting June 25

Jay-Z will add to his already overflowing pile of career achievements a second commemorative library card as he celebrates the 30th anniversary of his debut, Reasonable Doubt

To mark the occasion this month, Jay announced a string of pop-ups around New York City, as well as a fresh partnership with the Brooklyn Public Library. That includes the release of a new limited edition library card, which will be available June 25 — the same day Reasonable Doubt was released in 1996 — at all BPL locations on a first-come, first-served basis, and while supplies last.

This marks Jay-Z’s second time partnering with the Brooklyn Public Library after his Book of HOV exhibit was put on display at the Grand Army Plaza branch in 2023. The launch of that exhibit also included a special promotion that saw the BPL printing a bunch of limited edition library cards commemorating all 13 of Jay’s solo albums.

Along with Reasonable Doubt 30th anniversary library card, the Marcy Library in Bed-Stuy — which would’ve been Jay’s local BPL branch growing up in the nearby Marcy Houses — will feature a dedicated display shelf featuring books picked by Jay-Z.

Beyond the BPL partnership, the Reasonable Doubt 30th celebrations will include the launch of pop-up exhibits in downtown Manhattan and the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn. Those will open on June 25 at 11 a.m., with fans able to sign-up and reserve their entry slot online now. Additional events, exhibits, and experiences will be announced in the coming weeks.

Jay-Z also has a handful of concerts scheduled for this summer as part of his “Jay-Z30” celebrations. After returning to the stage at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia last month, he’s set to headline two nights at Yankee Stadium in New York City, July 10 and 11. On night one, he’ll perform Reasonable Doubt in its entirety, while on night two, he’ll play all of The Blueprint in honor of its 25th anniversary. Additional shows will take place in Paris (Sept. 10) and Los Angeles (Oct. 23).
