D4vd’s ‘Arcane’ anthem ‘Remember Me’ pulled from streaming following murder charge

D4vd’s Arcane anthem ‘Remember Me’ has quietly been pulled from streaming services after the singer was charged with the murder of a 14-year-old girl.

D4vd started making original music back in 2021 to soundtrack his own Fortnite montage videos. In 2023, he collaborated with 21 Savage on ‘Call Me Revenge’ for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and the following year, teamed up with Riot Games for ‘Remember Me’. The brooding, nostalgic track was featured on the soundtrack for the second season of League Of Legends-inspired Netflix show Arcane.

Yesterday (May 18), fans noticed the track had quietly been removed from streaming services.

Earlier this year D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke) was named as the target of a grand jury investigation into the apparent murder of 14-year-old girl Celeste Rivas Hernandez after her remains had been found severely decomposed in the boot of a Tesla registered to Burke last September. Last month, he was charged with her murder.

During the court case, it’s been claimed that D4vd was in possession of a “significant” amount of child pornography at the time of his arrest. The prosecution has also also accused the singer of dismembering Hernandez’ body with tools he bought online.

Since then, collaborations with Laufey, Damiano David, Kali Uchis and more have been removed from online streaming platforms and D4vd has also been dropped by his label Interscope. Last month, Fortnite automatically refunded players who bought D4vd-inspired cosmetics from their online store.

Streaming sites such as Spotify and Apple Music are also facing calls to remove all of D4vd’s music from their platforms, with music advocacy group Industry Blackout launching a petition. “The music industry has a responsibility that goes beyond commerce. When an artist has been charged with the sexual abuse and murder of a minor, a child who was drawn into his orbit through his music and public persona, continuing to stream, promote, and profit from his catalogue is a choice. It is not a neutral one,” the group explained.

Burke has been charged with first-degree murder, as well as murder for “financial gain” and murder of a witness to an investigation. D4vd has pleaded not guilty. His lawyers have vowed to “vigorously defend” his innocence” and that “evidence will show that he did not kill Celeste”. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
