V Steps Into His Beyoncé ‘Cowboy Carter’ Era as BTS’ Tour Stops Through Texas: ‘Mucho Picante’

V of BTS is getting into the Texas spirit with the help of one of the Lone Star State’s biggest icons: Beyoncé.

On Tuesday (May 5) — a couple days after the boy band completed two shows in El Paso on its ongoing world tour — the South Korean singer shared a photo of himself looking in the mirror while trying on a cowboy hat on his Instagram Story. He paired the snap with Queen Bey’s Billboard Hot 100-topping hit “Texas Hold ‘Em,” quoting the lyrics, “This ain’t Texas, ain’t no hold ’em/ So lay your cards down, down, down, down.”

V also shared a carousel of recent photos on his main feed, including a video of himself driving a golf cart around a stadium with his bandmates in tow and a snap of a restaurant outing, where he appeared to try out a few Texas barbecue staples (onion rings, mac and cheese and coleslaw). “Mucho picante,” he wrote in Spanish in the caption, which translates to “very spicy.”

BTS played two back-to-back concerts at the Sun Bowl in El Paso on May 2 and 3. The group’s trek supporting Billboard 200-topping new album ARIRANG kicked off in April in South Korea, after which the Bangtan Boys stopped through Tokyo before playing their first three shows in the United States in Tampa, Fla.

Next up, BTS will go even further south to Mexico City, where the band has three shows slated. V and bandmates RM, j-hope, Jin, Jimin, Jung Kook and SUGA will be on the road for the rest of the year as well as a couple months in 2027, with the tour wrapping in March in the Philippines.
