Australia’s hyped Headsend surprise release debut EP ‘Angel Glands’

Rising Aussie three-piece Headsend have surprise released their debut EP, ‘Angel Glands’, and announced new UK live shows.

The grunge band, formed of Rasmus King, Kyuss King and Bon Soric, have started to turn heads over the past year, having locked in support slots with huge names like Wunderhorse, Tool, and AC/DC.

Today (Thursday March 26), they have surprise released a debut EP called ‘Angel Glands’. It features hard-hitting, unforgettable tracks like ‘Stove’ and ‘Chugg’, alongside the previously released anthem ‘And Angel’, and their latest single, ‘Do Do’.

‘Angel Glands’ was recorded live in-studio by Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots), and looks to capture the same ferocious energy that the band deliver when performing live – embracing the same unfiltered intensity and charisma that they capture on stage.

As well as releasing the new EP, Headsend have also announced new live shows planned for 2026. These include a slot at The Great Escape festival in Brighton, taking place at the Charles Street Tap on May 15 as part the official Great Escape showcase, and another gig as part of the festival at Sounds Australia in Brighton on May 16.

They also have a one-off show planned for May 18, taking place at the Brixton Windmill in London. Visit here for tickets.

Headsend’s 2026 UK live shows are:

MAY
15 – The Great Escape, Charles Street Tap (Official Great Escape Showcase)
16 – The Great Escape, Sounds Australia (Deep End Stage)
18 – Brixton Windmill, London

This year’s edition of The Great Escape – described as “the festival for new music” – is due to take place between May 13-16. Those joining Headsend on the line-up include Peaches, who will be headlining a Spotlight Show at Brighton Dome Concert Hall, as well as indie favourites The Lottery Winners, London rock trio Villanelle, Australian electro-pop provocateur BIG WETT and more.

The Kooks will also play a special spotlight show for the The Great Escape‘s 20th anniversary, which will be presented by NME.

For the 2025 edition, English Teacher led the way on the line-up, alongside Skunk Anansie, Maruja and The Molotovs. That year’s spotlight show was headlined by Pete Doherty and Warmduscher.
