First Aid Kit to play ‘Stay Gold’ in full at one-off London show with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra

First Aid Kit have announced a one-off show in London, which will see them play ‘Stay Gold’ in full alongside the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.

The Swedish duo will return to the UK capital on Tuesday September 29, and will play a one-off gig at the Royal Albert Hall – their first since taking a two-year break from touring.

For the unique gig, they will play their breakthrough album ‘Stay Gold’ in full for the first half of the evening, then, in the second half, they will break out a run of fan favourites, both old and new.

They will be accompanied by the 65-piece Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra for the gig, who will help them reimagine their tracks on a grand symphonic scale – bringing together their signature harmonies with the sound of a full orchestra.

This is set to be the only UK show that First Aid Kit will play in 2026, and speaking of the announcement, the duo shared: “We’re thrilled to announce that we’re playing a very special show at Royal Albert Hall on September 29.

“We’ll be joined by the incredible Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, performing Stay Gold in its entirety for the first half of the evening. The second half will be a mix of our favourite songs, old and new. This truly feels like a dream come true. Just thinking about this night makes us teary-eyed. It will be our only UK show this year, so make sure to get your tickets. We can’t wait to share this with you.”

Visit here for tickets, which go on sale at 10am this Friday (March 13).

The Swedish sisters – Klara and Johanna Söderberg – shared their fifth studio album, ‘Palomino’, in 2022. It was given a four-star review from NME and praised as a “a consistently charming listen”.

“‘Palomino’ flits between the certainties and uncertainties of love with ease, strengthened by deeper musical experimentation that won’t alienate longtime fans,” it read. “Another gem in First Aid Kit’s consistently good arsenal of timeless, harmony-rich roots music.”

Since then, they have shared a rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Songbird’ in tribute to Christine McVie, appeared on the Dreamland soundtrack, and joined artists in 2024 in calling for Israel to be disqualified from that year’s Eurovision.
