The moment unfolded Saturday night (March 7) at Margaret Court Arena, where G Flip was performing a hometown show as part of their current Australian tour. Midway through the set, Amorosi emerged to thunderous cheers from the crowd, launching into the chorus of the 2000 single as fans sang along.

Videos shared on social media show Amorosi delivering the song’s soaring vocal lines while G Flip bounced around the stage, the two performers feeding off the energy of the packed arena. The unexpected collaboration quickly turned the venue into a full-scale singalong.

Released in 2000, “Absolutely Everybody” became Amorosi’s breakout hit and one of the defining Australian pop singles of the early 2000s. The track reached No. 1 on the ARIA singles chart and remained on the chart for more than six months, eventually becoming one of the longest-charting singles by an Australian female artist at the time. The song later gained international attention and remains closely associated with Amorosi’s powerhouse vocal style.

The cameo added another memorable moment to G Flip’s current tour, which celebrates the success of their latest album Dream Ride. The record arrived last year and followed the breakout success of Drummer, which earned the artist an ARIA Award for Best Pop Release in 2023.

G Flip has spent the past year building momentum globally, including a 35-plus-date run across the United States and Canada and a headline show at London’s Brixton Academy. The artist also received an ARIA nomination for Best Pop Release for the single “Disco Cowgirl,” while their growing cultural influence was recognized with a place on Out magazine’s annual Out 100 list highlighting impactful LGBTQ+ figures.

More recently, G Flip released the single “Lez Go!” with Canadian rock band The Beaches, who are also serving as support on the Australian tour.

The current run of shows marks G Flip’s first major tour on home soil since the success of Drummer, with the tour set to continue through Adelaide and Perth in the coming days.
