Jack Harlow Drops ‘Monica’ Album Teaser Featuring Real Talk About Sex and Relationships: ‘They’ve All Said I Love You’

Jack Harlow wants you to listen to his upcoming fourth studio album, Monica, which is due out on March 13. But before the follow-up to 2023’s Jackman LP drops, the Louisville, Ky.-bred MC is doing some active listening himself.

In the latest teaser for the album, Harlow posted a video on Monday (March 2) in which he mostly observes intently as a group of women talk about sex, love and relationships. “I think that in the way that we say women lose their power when they have sex, I think men feel like they lose their power when they say, ‘I love you,’” one of the women says in the clip as a bespectacled Harlow sits quietly and offers an affirming “hmmm” and a gentle head nod to her point.

Then it’s time for Bleacher Reports‘ Taylor Rooks to weigh in, with the sports journalist smiling and slowly shaking her head as she says with a laugh, “They’ve all said ‘I love you.’” When another participant agrees and adds that “it feels like it doesn’t feel good for them sometimes,” Rooks notes, “but they’ll say it so quickly!”

Rather than offer his opinions, Harlow spends his time petting an adorable Labradoodle while one of participants offers, “they do all say it, but then it always ends up being a problem.” Rooks listens with a quizzical look on her face until Harlow finally finds his spot and suggests, “Maybe you’re built diff[erently].”

The brief video does not contain any new music or information about the album that Harlow announced on Feb. 10, and which is slated to drop on the rapper’s 28th birthday. The original post was accompanied by the LP’s cover art, featuring a motion-blurred image of the rapper with his eyes shut while wearing a pair of shades and a brown cap tilted to the side. A few days after the announcement, Harlow posted a similar real-talk video, this time featuring male friends detailing the perils of dating life in New York and Los Angeles, as well as bonding over their mutual love for singer Brandy.

At press time no additional information was available about the tracklist or any features on the LP, which was recorded at the famed Electric Lady Studios in New York City following Harlow’s move to the Big Apple from his Kentucky home. Harlow has kept a low musical profile for most of the past year, most recently releasing the Doja Cat-assisted single “Just Us” last March.
